NO S. Korean Troops to Hormuz! NO Support for US & Israelโs Wars! (September 4, 2026)
A government official reportedly said that the deployment is intended to promote โregional stabilityโ and serve the โnational interest.โ But it was the attacks by the US and Israel that turned Iran and the Strait of Hormuz into a war zone. How could sending South Korean troops there possibly contribute to โregional stabilityโ? We cannot help but ask: whose โnational interestโ is being served by putting the lives of ordinary young people who would be deployed at risk and making ordinary people pay the price of an expanding war?
We have seen the devastation in Palestine, and we have witnessed what the wars of the US and Israel bring. The South Korean government must not become a military supporter of that war.
