[129th Protest&March] STOP KILLING GAZA! RIGHT OF RETURN FOR PALESTINIAN REFUGEES! (June 20,2026)
🗝 At the 129th protest held on June 20, World Refugee Day, participants heard a message from Doha, a Palestinian in the West Bank who recently visited South Korea and joined protests organized by PSP. Speeches were also delivered by certified labor attorney Kim Kwang-il and Ali, an Egyptian political refugee and co-secretary of PSP. Thanks to the contributions of Arabic translator Kim Young-jo and English translator Bak Irang, we were able to build solidarity beyond language barriers.
📣 Carrying a large key symbolizing the Palestinian refugees’ Right of Return and Handala flags, we marched to Myeong-dong Station. The strong support and encouragement from people on the streets could be clearly felt. We also raised chants protesting the police restrictions that continue to ban marches within Myeong-dong.
🙌 Mohadeseh, a member of Soobak, Palestine solidarity club in SNU, personally prepared bottled water and, together with Palbong-i(volunteer group), distributed it to participants, sharing a spirit of solidarity and care.
🇵🇸 Solidarity continues!

Remarks by Ali, an Egyptian political refugee and co-secretary of “People in Solidarity with Palestinians”
🗝 I am a political refugee from Egypt. I know what it means to be forced to leave one’s homeland. I know the bitterness of fear, uncertainty, and the search for safety—not only for myself, but for my family as well. Yet what the people of Gaza are enduring today defies description and surpasses the limits of human endurance. … The right of return is not merely a slogan. It is a legal, humanitarian, and historical right that cannot be erased. Palestine is not simply a refugee issue. It is the issue of a people who have been deprived of their land, freedom, and rights for decades.

Update on the Petition to Shut Down the “Israel Education Research Center” at SNU
As of June 22nd, 1,300 people have signed the petition! This is all thanks to the tremendous interest and participation of the SNU community and the general public. Please sign the petition right away, and share it with others! * You don't have to be a member of SNU to participate.
Organized by SNU Soobak, the SNU Democratic Alumni Association, and the SNU Branch of Korean University Workers’ Union In June 2024, the SNU administration opened the “Israel Education Research Center”—a center that glorifies the genocidal and colonial entity ‘Israel’. The center involves the official participation of the Israeli Embassy and receives funding from a Christian Zionist organization. This center makes claims that are completely at odds with the truth—namely, that Israel pursues “multiculturalism” and “peace”—and argues that South Korea should learn from Israel’s education system. We cannot allow a center that exploits SNU’s prestige to spread false propaganda. This center must be shut down immediately! |
